About Cerebral Valley

CV is the world's largest tech ecosystem, regularly producing activations around the world with the biggest brands in the industry. Whether it's a flagship hackathon, bespoke dinner, or a private enterprise event, the most important companies in AI call us to execute their goals and steward the next wave of technology ⚡

About the Role

As a Designer at CV, you're the person who makes an event look like the biggest thing happening that week. You'll design the posters, slides, swag, signage, and production assets that carry the world's biggest brands into a room full of the best builders in AI. This is a junior role intended for part-time applicants, whether you're a student, a killer designer strapped for time, or looking to dip your toe in the water.

What you'll do

  • Own the look of an event end to end: posters, slides, swag, signage, badges, banners, wayfinding, stage screens. The thousand details nobody names but everybody feels.

  • Work with the biggest brands in the world: translate a partner's brand guidelines onto every surface an event has, and know exactly when to bend them and when you absolutely can't.

  • Design decks speakers want to present and partners want to forward to their CEO.

  • Work with the partners to execute their vision: they have a request, you'll act on it.

  • Turn one-off asks into systems: templates, kits, and repeatable design that make each event faster and sharper to produce.

  • Manage a packed calendar, often designing for multiple events in multiple cities at once.

Non-negotiables you need to have

  • Absurd attention to detail. You catch the broken kerning, the low-res logo, the typo everyone else missed, consistently.

  • A portfolio that speaks for you. Student work, club flyers, side projects, hackathon posters: we don't care where it shipped, only that it's good and it's yours.

  • Fluency in Figma, Canva, Adobe, or whatever tool gets you to great, fastest.

  • Crystal clear, fast, and effective communication. There's no room for ambiguity with our partners, our vendors, and our team.

  • Speed without sloppiness. Three directions by tomorrow, final files in an hour when an event demands it.

Bonus points, but not requirements

  • AI-native. You've adopted the newest tools and experiment with your own processes to get shit done efficiently.

  • A demonstrated track record designing for events, conferences, hackathons, high-bar student clubs, or anything where your work had to physically exist in a room.

  • Print production experience: bleed, CMYK, PMS, resolution, vendor-ready files. You know what a file needs to survive a print shop and a loading dock.

  • Motion skills: After Effects, Midjourney, or animated slides that make a stage screen feel alive.

  • A deep understanding of the tech industry, including relevant companies, news, model launches, and the history of the last ~3 years in AI.

  • Photography or video hobby or experience capturing work in the wild.

How our process runs

1. Introductory call with someone from CV's team.

2. Quick take-home design project. Your time to give a sneak peek of what you bring to the table.

3. Final call with one of the founders.

4. 1-2 week work trial. Interviews rarely capture a candidate fully. Let's see how well you mesh into the team in live work scenarios.

CV hires for agency, not pedigree. CV is an equal-opportunity employer and welcomes applicants of every background. If you truly think you're a great fit and you don't fit the mold, try anyway.
