AeroAid - Natural Language for Disaster Relief Drone Operations

In disaster zones, every minute matters. Drones can deliver supplies and locate survivors, but today responders must manually program waypoints or rely on technical operators -- a slow process when lives are on the line. AeroAid solves this by supercharging the industry-standard PX4 autopilot and MAVLink protocols with GPT-5. Instead of coding waypoints, responders simply give high-level instructions like: “Survey the flooded zone and deliver supplies to the school gym.” AeroAid interprets the intent, decomposes it into subtasks, and generates validated PX4/MAVLink missions that drone fleets can execute immediately. Our system integrates natural language processing, mission validation, and multi-drone coordination into a single pipeline. In simulation, drones receive GPT-5 generated missions, execute them, and stream telemetry (position, battery, wind, speed) back to a central dashboard for situational awareness. We demo using Gazebo Sim.
