Tiro is a local-first, open-source reading OS that saves web pages and email newsletters as clean markdown on your machine and uses Claude Opus 4.6 as a personal research librarian. Opus powers three intelligence features: daily digests that rank articles and surface contradictions across sources, on-demand ingenuity analysis scoring bias, factual confidence, and novelty, and learned preference classification that adapts to your reading taste. Haiku handles lightweight enrichment (tags, entities, summaries) on every save. Everything runs locally - SQLite, ChromaDB, and markdown files you own completely. It has advanced features like dark mode, knowledge graph visualization, TTS audio, Gmail IMAP integration for auto-ingesting newsletters, a Chrome extension for one-click saves, and an MCP server that lets Claude query your library directly. Named after Cicero's freedman who preserved his master's works for posterity - Tiro does the same for your digital knowledge.
