I created PKU Commons, a framework for developing and maintaining a phenylalanine estimating app usable for both managing the dietary requirements of PKU as well as clinical and research purposes. I'm a PKU mom. PKU Commons is intended to systematize the "real world evidence" represented by dietary phenylalanine inputs and logging usually conducted by parents. As AI begins to create actionable new drug development for PKU, it is critical that we speed up the data feedback cycle, both to increase safety and accelerate the cycle of cure discovery.
