SEO professionals pay $100-300/month for tools like Ahrefs and Semrush. The data they surface is already in the HTML. The analysis is what costs money. Argus is a free, open-source Chrome extension that replaces those subscriptions. One click opens a side panel that extracts every SEO signal from any page and runs 40+ weighted audit rules across 10 categories. With a user-provided Claude API key (stored locally, zero backend), Opus 4.6 generates strategic SEO briefs, production-ready JSON-LD schema, technical fixes referencing actual audit failures, and content gap analysis. No key? Falls back to Chrome's Gemini Nano, then static analysis. Three tiers, always works. Argus also ships as an MCP server on npm. Run npx @pixelesq/argus-mcp and Claude Code audits any URL from the terminal. Same engine, same rules, different runtime. One codebase, two products.
