Welcome to MCP Agent Silsila Series!
How should developers think about identity and security for MCP? Authorization and authentication are crucial parts of building production systems. Things get even more complex when we think about auth for agents. Should an agent be modeled as a "service user", or impersonate the user who triggered it?
We will cover some usecases for agents in this session that highlight this predicament, and will also discuss the current state of auth and security in MCP.
Every three weeks, we host live sessions with experts to explore real-world applications of MCP, feature community MCP projects, and demo tools and agents that are pushing MCP to the limit.
This session's featured companies are:
Jessica Wang, Developer Advocate at Warp demoing their MCP integration and Agent Development Environment.
Rohit Ganguly, AI Product Manager at Descope, demoing an OAuth-enabled remote MCP server with user consent management and role-based access control.
About the Host:
This session is hosted by Sarmad Qadri, CEO of LastMile AI and creator of mcp-agent: a simple, composable framework for building agents using Model Context Protocol (MCP).
“Silsila” (سلسلہ) means chain of events in Urdu. We thought it is a fitting name for a gathering of builders, researchers, and developers working on modular, tool-using, agentic systems powered by MCP. (It was also the name we considered before settling on mcp-agent).
