Tribunal turns a high-stakes AI decision from a polished paragraph into a replayable verdict record.

When AI affects credit, insurance, benefits, speech, work, commerce, or account access, people usually receive fluent text, not the process behind it. Tribunal makes that missing process visible: what evidence mattered, who objected, what changed, whether safety concerns blocked the result, and why the final wording survived.

Built by Pablo Zavala of Carnegie Mellon University, Tribunal replaces one-shot generation with span-by-span election (one meaningful clause of the final decision at a time, not a whole paragraph at once). Six roles (evidence, adversary, law/policy, affected party, safety, and concision) propose, challenge, revise, vote, preserve dissent, and ratify each span under a named rule. The explanation is not written afterward; it is the way the answer is made.

Each run emits a hash-chained ledger. The demo verifies the ledger, then fails after tampering. Tribunal’s claim is narrow but urgent: if AI decides something that matters, the decision should leave evidence behind.
