Clinical Trial Compass connects patients' Apple Health data (conditions, health metrics, biomarkers, medications) with the ClinicalTrial.gov database of 500K+ clinical trials using a Claude Agent SDK/Claude Opus 4.6 AI matching agent and companion iOS application. It checks their opt-in shared health history and preferences against this database, as well as an openFDA database of thousands of drugs and interactions to find suitable trials. It moves through a six-stage subagent pipeline (intake, search, matching, selection, report) and can backtrack and take additional turns based on user input.

Fewer than 5% of adult cancer patients in the U.S. participate in clinical trials, despite surveys showing that over 70% of patients would be willing to enroll if given the opportunity. The gap isn't reluctance — it's awareness and access.

The bridge between clinical trials and the patients who need them is broken. Rebuilding it is one of the highest-impact problems in healthcare today.
